Deep ruby-red in color, with concentrated notes of crushed black cherries, cocoa, dried herbs, and a touch of balsam. Broad, velvety, and mouth-filling on the palate, it strikes a perfect balance between strong tannins and elegant acidity.
Pair this wine with steak, grilled tenderloin, baby back ribs, or hearty veal stew.
94 Points - James Suckling
Aromas of bright and ripe black cherries vie with lightly charred roasting herbs, mild chili and dark floral notes. Full-bodied and silky with very fine tannins that are well sunk into the wine, allowing the fruit to build through the palate. Long, long finish with a gentle expansion of tannin and fruit. Classy. So tempting now, but will gain in complexity over a few years.
92 Points - Vinous
The 2019 Merlot Veronese wafts up with an herbal-infused blend of crushed cherries and blueberries. It’s soft, almost creamy in feel, with juicy acidity to balance and bright red and blue fruits that cascade throughout. This tapers off with a pleasant inner sweetness, leaving grippy tannins to linger while maintaining a lovely freshness. This incredibly pretty Merlot will win a lot of hearts.
