Aalto PS is made only in the best vintages. It is sourced from Aalto's best sites (Pagos) located near the villages of La Horra, La Aguilera and Fresnillo. These vineyards are between 80-100 years old. This wine is aged entirely in new French oak for 18 months. As dense as the regular cuvee, the PS is more intense with tremendous structure and length that rewards patience resting either in your cellar or a decanter.
Composed entirely of grapes of the Tinta Fina variety (Tempranillo) from very old vines, this wine presents a very intense and bright ripe cherry color hue. It's a very expressive wine on the nose, dominated by notes of ripe black and red fruit (currants, raspberries, blackberries...) combined with other mineral nuances, liquorice, spices (pepper, cloves...) and noble woods from its long stay in the barrel. The palate has an intense entrance and a smooth passage. Its flavor stands out for the notes of ripe fruit, typical of Tempranillo, combined with other more subtle notes that remind us of spices, coffee, tobacco and toast (from its long aging in oak).
A wine with great aging capacity that improves with time. It is recommended to wait from one to three years before uncorking it, so that it better shows all its nuances.
