Since Corte Gardoni's founder Gianni Piccoli vehemently opposed chemical cultivation and the migration of international grape types to his home territory in the early 1970s, the Piccoli family has been flying the Bardolino flag for decades.
Bardolino is an Italian red wine produced along the chain of morainic hills in the province of Verona to the east of Lake Garda. Bardolino takes its name from the town Bardolino on the shores of Lake Garda and was awarded Denominazione di origine controllata (DOC) status in 1968.
Gianni's three sons continue the family heritage of bottling wonderful, refreshing, and cheap wines made from local grapes—in this case, Corvina and Rondinella. The fruit from their responsibly farmed vines ferments in stainless steel and is bottled as soon as possible to preserve its freshness. With a tart cherry scent and a hint of black pepper, as well as a crisp, crunchy acidity, this luscious rosso is ideal for any occasion.
