Product description

The Micro-Terroir of Mont de Milieu

Mont de Milieu lies on the side of a hill that is protected from the North winds by woods.  Historically, this hill used to have a boundary running through its middle, separating the county of Champagne and the duchy of Burgundy.

This Climat is sun-drenched from morning to night due to its south and southeast exposition and moderate, regular slopes. Facing the valley of the Serein, especially wide in this area, Mont de Milieu is quite imposing, open and airy.

This Climat is often described as homogenous: on its 44 hectares, limestone clays and small white limestone stones come together in perfect harmony.  Like Vaucoupin or Vau Ligneau, it is a flag-bearing Climat of the right bank that does not encompass any neighboring Climats.

Tasting:   To the eye, a pale yellow. On the nose, complex notes of white flowers, citrus, and a mineral finish. Delicate and elegant with a balance between floral aromas and minerality.

94 Points - Wine Enthusiast... Ripe, fresh greengage notes appear on the aromatic nose of this wine, which is tinged with lemon, lime and a richer note of candlewax. The palate continues in this compact, almost oily vein. A concentrated body speaks eloquently of the 2018 ripeness, but more in terms of texture than fruit since everything is brightened by a tinge of lime. Texture and freshness meld to present a harmonious and subtle wine.
