La Spinetta Barbera Ca Di Pian 2016 - 1.5 Litre

Ruby red in color with purple reflections, this wine offers aromas of blueberry, wet earth and a hint of orange peel. On the palate, it is full-bodied with bright acidity and lots of intensity, but also balanced and silky -- an ultra-fine Barbera that combines richness with finesse.

90 Points Vinous...La Spinetta's 2016 Barbera d'Asti Ca' di Pian is soft, plummy and very tasty. I would prefer to drink it over the next few years, while the fruit remains vibrant. This is a pretty laid-back style for the Ca' di Pian, which in the past was a much darker and more concentrated wine. Red and purplish berry fruit with a touch of spice is nicely pushed forward by bright acids. The 2016 is absolutely delicious, especially with a little aeration.
