Merryvale Cabernet Sauvignon 'Calistoga' 2015
Merryvale's proprietors, the Schlatter Family, are winemaking traditionalists with a deep respect for Napa's winemaking legacy and a dynamic vision for the future of Napa Valley. Owner Rene Schlatter Says... "I enjoy drinking wines from all over the world, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Tuscany, Switzerland and Napa Valley. No matter the origin, I look for purity of fruit, personality, character and a sense of place. For a wine to be great, it must stand the test of time."
Merryvale's 2015 Calistoga Cabernet is sourced from the same two vineyards as previous vintages, but this bottling is a blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Petit Verdot. Petit Verdot brings ripe, spicy characters, whereas the Cabernet is full, dense and has loads of floral and red fruit notes. The lengthy finish displays well-proportioned tannins that will increase complexity as time passes. This wine will drink beautifully for the next 15 to 20 years.
93 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Calistoga is a deep garnet-purple colour with a cassis, blackberries and mulberries-scented nose plus spice box, cedar and cloves notions. The medium to full-bodied palate is elegant and fresh, with fine-grained tannins and good length.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Calistoga comes from the northern part of the valley and is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. It sports a deep ruby/purple colour and charming, upfront notes of plums, blueberries, leafy herbs, violets and forest floor. Plump, supple and beautifully textured, this beauty fills the mouth with fruit and has sweet tannin and an endearing style that begs to be drunk.
