Silvia Cellars got its start in 1885 on a family-owned vineyard in Sicily. Nonno Silvia shared a passion for vendemmia (vine harvesting) with his family members in order to produce high-quality wine for his dinner table. Antonio Silvia continued his Grandfather's heritage by founding his own winery with the same values over a century later. Silvia Cellars is a family-owned winery that was founded on a quest to capture the finest of California appellations by seeking out growing areas that suited their Sicilian winemaking technique.
The nose features notes of black cherry, plum, and jam and is medium purple in hue. It's well-balanced, mildly tannic, and has a lengthy finish that emphasizes the oak age.
