Tasting Notes... A pretty pale salmon in colour, their 2020 vintage is wonderfully fresh, boasting mouth-watering aromas of all things you crave each summer, local strawberries, watermelon and rhubarb with a zesty touch of grapefruit zest. The palate is lush, fresh and juicy while delightfully dry. Bright flavours of blood orange, lemon peel and wild raspberry are abundant and supported by a salty minerality. A wonderful balance of fruitiness and savoury flavours make this wine a delight any time of the week.
A unique blend each year, the 2020 release was crafted from young vine Pinot Noir picked early in the season and whole-bunch pressed to preserve freshness and acidity. The colour and texture of the wine arrived from the fruit off of our 1985 plantings of Pinot Meunier, crushed and left on skins for 3 days before pressing and blending with the Pinot Noir juice. The wine was then fermented at cool temperatures and spent 2 months on fermentation lees prior to bottling in February 2021.
