Bonterra McNab Red Blend 2014

The 2014 McNab showcases the intense character Biodynamic grapes can bring to a great wine. For this vintage, they created a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with Old Vine Petite Sirah. Each varietal is allowed to ripen individually to peak maturity before harvesting, expressing the vintage, and the character of each varietal unique terroir of the McNab Ranch.

The resulting wine has aromas of blackberries, black currants with touches of cedar. Soft tannins and a long finish reveal flavors of raspberry, plum, vanilla spice and well-integrated oak. The blend consists of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 9% Petite Sirah, 2% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Malbec.

This wine is a complete and beautiful wine. Its aromas and flavors of red and black fruits, classic pencil lead, and oak accents make it perfect choice with a juicy grilled ribeye. 

91 Points - Wine Enthusiast    This square-jawed wine is big, powerful and just a bit rough around the edges. An aromatic blast of oak, tobacco and cedar on the nose is followed by ripe focused black-cherry flavors and integrated oak along with firm chunky tannins on the palate. It should make a great match with a steak or roast.
