Burja Bela

The Burja winery is about 20km from the Italian border and Fruili region. Producers such as Gravner and Radikon started making waves with their skin contact wines here in the late 90's. The Flysch soil and the Vipava Valley exist on both sides of the border, and we just fell in love with this wine from the Burja estate where the wines are heavily influenced by the great tradition of skin contact winemaking in Fruili. The wine itself has a light skin-contact, with incredible depth, a core of stone fruit with hints of smoke and savoury notes. A very fine wine indeed.
