A rare find, not only because Pinot Noir is uncommon in Piedmont, but vinifying one as a white is quite unusual. The fruit for this cuvée is drawn from Pinot Nero vines, 100% Champagne clone Pinot Noir planted in 1972. The grapes are gently pressed off skins, fermented naturally, and aged for nine months on lees, in tank and old barrels. The name “Pinner” comes from PINot NERo. This wine often shows a slightly rosé or onion-skin tone color. Tropical aromas and white florals abound, tempered by refreshing mineral characteristics and a fresh dry finish.
93 Points - Wine Enthusiast Made with 100% Pinot Nero grapes, this copper-colored wine opens with enticing scents of spring field flowers, orchard fruits and wild berries. The delicious, elegant palate doles out white cherry, strawberry, citrus and minerality, while baking spice notes lend depth. Vinified as a white wine, this is a rare, intriguing bottling.
