Chateau Le Gay 2011

Product description

The 2011 Le Gay exhibits a deep ruby/blue/purple color in addition to a sumptuous nose of spring flowers, blueberries and raspberries, deep, full-bodied, slightly masculine flavors, and sensational purity, richness and texture. It is another impressive 2011 Pomerol that has the guts, stuffing and structure to age for 15-20 years.

94 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate    The 2011 Le Gay exhibits a deep ruby/blue/purple color in addition to a sumptuous nose of spring flowers, blueberries and raspberries, deep, full-bodied, slightly masculine flavors, and sensational purity, richness and texture. It is another impressive 2011 Pomerol that has the guts, stuffing and structure to age for 15-20 years.

94 Points - Wine Spectator    This isn't shy about its toast, with mocha and spice aromas boldly leading the way, but there's serious flesh too, with açaí berry, blueberry and blackberry notes all melded together and driving through the anise-tinged finish. A strong showing.

93 Points - James Suckling    This is a pretty wine with walnuts, blackberries, blueberries and just a hint of cocoa. Full body with super-silky tannins and a flavorful finish. Needs at least three to four years to come together and soften. Try in 2017.
