Cirelli La Collina Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2020

Francesco Cirelli is a rising star in Abruzzo, with a cult following among select sommeliers worldwide. In Abruzzo, where traditional farming is the norm, he challenges the norms. He isn't interested in sprayed chemicals or overworking the earth. Francesco quickly realised that after finishing school, he wanted to follow his passion for lamb viticulture and all things wine. In 2003, he bought the estate and turned it into a working farm. He now grows a variety of crops and raises a variety of animals, all of which work together to keep the farm running smoothly.

Organically grown, this is a fantastic example of the Montepulciano grape! The wine's youthful freshness is immediately approachable, with a vibrant purple colour that's deeper and darker than prior vintages.  Notes of plum, blackberry, and herbal, oregano flavours, followed by a chewy and juicy palate with a robust tannic grip. A modest quantity of VA adds vitality and complex textures to the wine.
