Domaine de l'Enclos Chablis 2019

Product description

The source of the most racy, light and tactile, yet uniquely complex Chardonnay, Chablis, while considered part of Burgundy, actually reaches far past the most northern stretch of the Cote d’Or proper. Its vineyards cover hillsides surrounding the small village of Chablis about 100 miles north of Dijon, making it actually closer to Champagne than to Burgundy. Champagne and Chablis have a unique soil type in common called Kimmeridgian, which isn’t found anywhere else in the world except southern England.

Romain and Damien Bouchard organically farm 29 hectares of vines, which range in age from 30 to 50 years old. Although inspired by traditional winemaking, they employ the best modern techniques as well. Some of the best Chablis crus are produced in this area.

This Chablis is made from 100% Chardonnay harvested from 15.4 hectares of 30 year old vines.  Fresh and lively with notes of tree fruits, citrus, and minerals, it is a wine that can be enjoyed now or for several years.
