Product description

Recognized by lovers of fine wine around the world, Domaines Baron de Rothschild are the helm of the prominent Bordeaux properties Chateau Lafite Rothshild, Chateau Duhart-Milon, Chateau L' Evangile and Chateau Rieussec. With several generations of expertise and tradition upheld by the Rothschild family, the chateaux of Domaines Baron de Rothschild continue to dominate with inimitable wines full of finesse and elegance vintage after vintage.

Limited Edition Case of 6 includes:

Chateau Lafite Rothschild 2008 (JS 95, WA 98, WE 97, JD 94, D 94, V 94)

Dominated by red fruit, the nose remains clear, precise and complex. In the mouth, the strength and classic style of this wine become apparent. There is fruit, substance, and tannins that are supple and tight at the same time.

Carruades de Lafite 2014 (JS 94, WE 94, WS 93, D 92, WA 90)

Lots of blackberries, dried mushrooms and minerals. Blackcurrants too with some tar. Full-bodied, chewy and rich with an intensity and liveliness on the finish. Salty and minerally. Give it until 2021 to try.

Chateau L'Evangile 2013 (V 94, WS 93, JS 92)

The 2013 l'Evangile shows a slightly deeper color as well as more noticeable ripe raspberry and black cherry fruit intermixed with notions of licorice and incense. Again, there is no hint of herbaceousness or tannic astringency in this mid-weight, slightly superficial, but charming, pretty 2013. Consume it over the next 7-8 years.

Chateau Duhart-Milon 2012 (WE 94, JS 92, WS 90)

Good ripeness as well as a strong herbaceous streak throughout the aromas and flavors. It is a very good, medium-bodied effort, but it is not as exceptional as some of the Duharts we have seen in recent vintages (2008, 2009 and 2010). It is slightly richer than the second wine of Lafite Rothschild, Carruades.

Chateau Rieussec 2009 (V 97, JS 98, WA 98, WE 95, WS 95)

The team at Chateau Rieussec have conjured a stellar wine in 2009. There is a little reduction at first that fortunately blows away, revealing thickly layered scents of honey, Danish pastry and quince that appear to gain vigor with every passing sip. The palate is stunning: very viscous in the mouth with tangy grapefruit, honey and white peach. It is still primal, but the acidity is perfectly judged and there is a life-affirming sense of precision and tension towards the finish. Exceptional. Drink now-2045.

R de Rieussec 2019

Powerful, harmonious nose with notes of citrus, mango, and other exotic fruit. The direct, energetic attack on the palate presents the same exotic, fresh character. The wine presents plenty of volume and good harmony. The buttery notes from the barrel-ageing have a definite presence and will quickly become integrated to give the wine more complexity. The finish is backed up by a pleasant acidity.
