DuMOL Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

DuMOL is a “vineyard up” winery with a fully integrated approach to winegrowing and winemaking. DuMOL sticks to what works and is focused on the fundamentals, finding inspiration in master, visionary producers around the world as DuMOL continually hones its craft—never imitating, ever refining. 

Great aromatic complexity: sweet tobacco, bay laurel and lilac, alongside dark blue and black fruits of gorgeous purity. The wine is broad across the palate with wave upon wave of cassis, blackberry and black cherry fruit. There’s great density and obvious power to the wine, and savory notes of Kalamata, licorice and anise add deeper complexity. Tannins are sleek, gravelly, and youthful and will allow the wine to age in bottle for twenty years if desired.

This is a meaty, powerful wine made in a dense, full-bodied style that possesses underlying grace. Black fruit dominates around a secondary tier of currant, clove and iron, the oak is present and yet behaved and well-integrated. The tannins are lengthy and grippy in their youth. Best enjoyed from 2029–2034.
