Elio Grasso Dolcetto D'Alba dei Grassi

Product description

Elio Grasso's Dolcetto vineyard is 1.5 hectares 280 metres above sea level, southeast facing on relatively loose-packed calcareous soil. Guyot trained at 4,500 vines per hectare.  The vinification process includes fermentation for 5-6 days in stainless steel tanks with daily pumping over.  After malolactic fermentation, the wine stays in stainless steel until bottling in May.

Dark garnet to deeper purple hues. Berries, plums, with bright hits of berries and cocoa.  Soft tannins give way to great acidity accompanied by stewed red fruits.  Excellent with pizza, pasta, roasted meats and hard cheeses.
