Guelbenzu Lautus Finca La Lombana 2009

Product description

From Ribera del Queiles in the Aragon DO of Northern Spain.  Deep black cherry.  Elegant and harmonious with aromas of ripe red berries and black fruits against a mineral, balsamic backdrop. The palate is flavoursome with good structure and balance. Notes of ripe black fruits come through (blackberries and blueberries) with subtle hints of toast. A spicy, balsamic finish. Complex.

88 Points - Wine Enthusiast     A blast of raw oak is the first and lasting impression on the nose, while berry and cherry aromas are a touch green. This Navarran blend of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot is a tannic bomb even some 12 years post harvest. Medicinal cherry and barrel-spice flavors are overrun by rock-hard tannins through the finish.
