Kaesler GSM Stonehorse

Product description

The Stonehorse wines are full of character like the teams of Clydesdale horses that used to work the heavy clay soil at the Kaesler vineyard, long before tractors were invented. An assemblage of estate vineyards ranging in age from 15 to 45 years in age. The Kaelsler family planted their first vines in 1893, and these historic, dry-grown vineyards still produce vines today.

This wine is a mix of Grenache (66%) Shiraz (28%) and Mouvedre (6%), aged for fifteen months in four-year-old French oak barrels. On the nose, candied strawberry, raspberry, and blueberries mingle with crisp violet florals, while the taste offers dark fruits such as blackberry, blueberry, baked plum, and rhubarb. Firm tannins and well-balanced acidity give this wine a long, lingering finish. Exceptionally tasty.
