Le Casematte Rosso Peloro

Le Casematte is a Sicilian winery that was established in 2008. It originated at the will of Gianfranco Sabbatino, who is an accountant by profession and a winemaker by passion. Later Andrea Barzagni, an ex football player from Florence, joined him in this project. The vineyards are located 500 meters above sea level in an area named Faro, overlooking the Strait of Messina.

Made with 70% Nerello Mascalese and 30% Nocera grapes, this wine is a brilliant ruby red in color with violet reflections. The bouquet has generous aromas of small red berries, floral fragrances as well as carob, licorice and spice. On the palate, the wine has fresh acidity, rich fruit flavors, mineral notes, and vibrant tannins.
