Louis Jadot Gevrey Chambertin 'Lavaux St. Jacques' Premier Cru 2014

Product description

"Lavaux St Jacques" is situated at the beginning of the split of Combe de Lavaux, which faces the south. "La Combe" is an ancient evacuation canal and we can notice the likeness between the soil of Premier Cru (for example "Lavaux St Jacques) and Grands Crus situated on the slope (Chambertin, Mazis Chambertin...).

Gevrey Chambertin "Lavaux St Jacques" has a magnificent deep color. The smell is pure and you can find small black fruits, leather and spice aromas. Powerful and concentration go with a good tannic structure. Its lasting in the mouth is surprising.

This powerful and perfumed wine requires elaborate and strong tasting food: leg of mutton, boeuf bourguignon, stew and strong cheeses (except blue cheese).

91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate    The 2014 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux St Jacques has a Morello cherry and crushed strawberry-scented bouquet with hints of undergrowth and pine in the background. The palate is well balanced with ripe, quite bold tannin. It does not quite have the tension or the finesse of the 2014 Cazetiers, a little stocky and rugged on the finish.
