Product description

2009 Vintage (2 Bottles) Tasting Notes:

The 2009 Lupicaia (mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and Petit Verdot) bares the trademark aromas of eucalyptus thanks to the soaring trees that line the perimeter of the vineyard. Dried salvia, black fruit, crushed mineral and barbecue ash are part of the complex embroidery of this gorgeous wine. The 2009 vintage shows stunning elegance and balance and is not to be missed. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2035.

2010 Vintage (2 Bottles) Tasting Notes:

Opulent, structured and energetic, the ’10 Lupicaia holds its sweet red and brambly black fruits in tension with its sturdy tannins; dark chocolate, sun-warmed earth, crushed rose petals, and fresh-cut herbs flesh out the aromatic profile of this exceptional Bordeaux-style blend. This is a dark, structured vintage that handles its power with finesse, and as seductive as this wine is in its youth, it’ll be even more remarkable decades down the road. Located in the Maremma, Castello del Terriccio builds on the legacies of Sassicaia, Ornellaia, and Il Macchiole, and this Super Tuscan will thrill wine-lovers who can't get enough of those iconic wines. A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot, the grapes for this wine ferment separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel, and the wine ages in barrique for 18 to 24 months before assembling the final blend and bottling.

2012 Vintage (2 Bottles) Tasting Notes:

Deep ruby color. Aromas of dark red cherries, blackcurrants, cedar, smoke, mint, black pepper. On the palate medium acidity, medium body and alcohol, tannins are smooth, balance is great and finish is long. This wine is beautiful and superbly smooth and balanced for a super Tuscan.
