Trefethen Dragon's Tooth Oak Knoll 2018

Product description

This wine opens with expressive aromas of cherry and blackberry accented with notes of fig, tobacco leaf, and sarsaparilla. Full-bodied and balanced, the integrated flavors of ripe dark fruit lead to a lush and abundant finish.

Enjoy Dragon‘s Tooth with earthy and rich cuisine. Pair it with creamy mushroom pasta. The complementary flavors, textures, and intensity of both the dish and the wine are stunning.

94 Points - James Suckling    A rich, round red with plum, berry, chocolate and walnut character. Lots of cherry flavors. It’s full-bodied with round tannins and a delicious finish. 49% malbec, 27% petit verdot and 24% cabernet sauvignon. Drink or hold.

91 Points - Jeb Dunnuck    Based largely on Malbec blended with 27% Petit Verdot and 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Red Blend Dragon's Tooth offers lots of smoked black fruits, toasty oak, chocolate, and darker, herbal, cedary notes to go with medium to full-bodied richness on the palate. The Petit Verdot becomes more obvious with time in the glass, and this rich, concentrated, yet elegant red blend has plenty to love. It's terrific today with a decant yet should easily evolve for a decade or more.

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate    An estate blend of 49% Malbec, 27% Petit Verdot and 24% Cabernet Sauvignon off the winery's Oak Knoll vineyard, the 2018 Dragon's Tooth Red Wine easily marries vanilla and black cherry notes on the nose. In the mouth, it's round and mouthfilling but not that richly textured, turning more tannic on the finish.
