Capitan 10 Year Aged Barley Shochu is ripened in an oak barrel for 10 years resulting in a significantly deeper, complex brew. Capitan is thoroughly aromatic with a pleasantly rich fragrance of oak from the barrel which harmonizes exquisitely with its earthy barley flavour. The taste is mellow on the tongue with a prolonged subtle sweetness.
With only 20,000 bottles in production each year, this limited bottle is named after capitão, the Portuguese word for Captain, referring to the trading house director in Hirado, Nagasaki, during the sakoku (isolation) era (17th-19th centuries).
Origin: Nagasaki Prefecture | Alcohol: 35%
