Unico Zelo Fresh A.F.

Unico Zelo is the brainchild of Brendan and Laura Carter, who have quickly emerged as the most dynamic winemaking duo in the Adelaide Hills. In their words they seek to create “Italian-inspired, textural and site-expressive wines.”

From single vineyard Nero d’Avola, Fiano, and Nebbiolo, as well as numerous blends and expressions of Italian varietals grown in this emerging winemaking region, there is something for everyone here as long as you seek individualistic, natural-spectrum, energy-packed wines.

Fresh A.F. is a blend of 70% Nero D’Avola and 30% Zibibbo organically grown on the sandy limestone soils of South Australia’s Riverland district. Nero D’Avolo is a Sicilian grape varietal whose love of the heat and resistance to drought make it an ideal grape to plant in this sun-drenched land. Redolent with sapid cherry and blueberry notes with floral aromatics, this is succulent, juicy, aromatic, and a supremely refreshing wine. Serve it with a chill for a warm weather treat!
