The colour is a deep crimson. The first nose immediately reveals the wine's complexity. The aromatic expression combines hints of violet and peony, which develop towards notes of summer fruit, raspberry and black cherry. This stylish vintage boasts aromatic freshness, precision and clarity. On the palate, the attack is rounded and ample. The middle palate is full and fleshy, with an exceedingly long-lasting finish. The tannins are elegant and silky, creating a perfect balance on the palate. This wine leaves a highly aromatic impression of fruit and freshness.
95 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2011 Cheval Blanc is one of the more plump, opulent and sexy Cheval Blancs made over recent vintages. Its forwardness, lusciousness and complexity suggest this wine is on a fast evolutionary track. The wine exhibits a dense ruby/purple/plum colour, a medium to full-bodied opulence, a sumptuous mid-palate and a lush, heady finish. It is a super, complex, evolved Cheval Blanc that can be drunk now or cellared for 15+ years. Bravo!
94 Points - James Suckling
A beautiful nose of ripe black fruits such as blackberries, cocoa, black truffle and mint. Full-body with a solid core of very refined tannins that lasts for minutes. Exquisite texture, especially for the vintage. 57% Cabernet Franc and 43% Merlot.
