General Information

TH Wines is a relatively new project, started in 2011, by Tyler Harlton. You might recognize the name, Tyler has been featured in several print and online articles, even a spread in Air Canada's enRoute in-flight magazine. The fuss is well deserved, Tyler is making waves with his garage style winemaking! All aspects of TH Wines depict the character and style of Tyler, from the labels to the wines themselves. Newest vintages, like the TH have photographs of Tyler's hands on a wine barrel, 'by hand' is the philosophy of his winemaking. Tyler is originally from Saskatchewan, where he worked on a grain farm. He chose to go back to his agricultural roots when he left a career in law, for the vineyards in Summerland, BC. Only 173 cases of the Viognier was produced. How it looks ...Soft, buttercream yellow. How it smells ...Viognier is sought after for the intoxicating perfumes. If harvested too early, the wine may enjoy a stronger acidity and ripeness, but at the expense of more aromatics. The TH is true to character with vibrant clean peaches and apricots, but also elegant and slightly reserved. How it tastes ...Viognier requires heat's originating region of Condrieu in Northern Rhone, gives the grapes morning heat in the Mediterranean climate. Similar to southern BC, these are harvested from a small vineyard near the Washington border, this is some of the warmest growing conditions in Canada. The wine is fermented in stainless steel and neutral French barrel, combined with an ideal 13.3% results in great body. The acidity is moderate and the palate is full of stone fruit and orange peel, and carries on forever. Ideal as an aperitif, but also plays nicely with aromatic herbs like rosemary and saffron. Try seared scallops with a saffron infused butter.
