Renieri Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2016

Product description
Lovely ruby-red color, concentrated and still transparent, with hints of garnet on the rim. Broad and varied bouquet refreshingly minty at first then enhanced by distinct notes of berries, in which currents and mulberries stand out. Pepper and cloves in the spicy finish. Well-balanced on the palate. The mouthfeel has a thick texture with integrated tannins, good balance between acids and alcohol. Appetizing, long, flavorful finish.

98 Points - James Suckling

Enticing black truffle aromas with cherry and strawberry. The palate is full and tight with super polished tannins that are layered and refined. Great length. Goes on and on.

94 Points - Wine Spectator

An intense version, this red delivers a beam of concentrated black cherry, black currant, violet, chocolate and earth flavors. Firms up at the end, where the dense tannins leave a compact feel for now. Shows savory elements that peek through on the finish.

94 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The Renieri 2016 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is balanced and bright, but it also shows the unmistakable power and grit of this classic vintage. Cassis and cherry are framed by fragrant balsam aromas with tarry smoke, cola and licorice. There is a glossy note here as well that recalls natural rubber, followed by pretty mineral tones that add elegance.

93 Points - Wine Enthusiast

Camphor, new leather, blue flower and dark spice aromas come to the forefront. Full-bodied and elegantly structured, the savory palate delivers ripe Marasca cherry, crushed raspberry, licorice and tobacco framed in tightly wound, fine-grained tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it balanced.
