Chateau Mouton Rothschild 2001

Product description

Chateau Mouton Rothschild, a Premier Cru Classe from the Bordeaux region and one of the world's greatest wines, is owned by Baroness Philippine de Rothschild. The estate includes 205 acres of vines at Pauillac planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (77%), Merlot (11%), Cabernet Franc (10%) and Petit Verdot (2%).

The wine has an evolved, garnet red color with brilliant highlights. The nose displays complex fruit, rich in ripe berry fruit aromas like bilberry and blackcurrant, with some pleasant notes of smoke and leather and a slightly animal cast. From a well-structured attack supported by well-rounded tannins, satisfyingly dense flavors emerge on the palate, full of fruit. The finish, long and elegant with plenty of substance, reveals excellent potential.

94 Points - Wine Spectator

Very smoky, with berry, coffee and tobacco aromas. Full-bodied, with polished velvety tannins, plenty of fruit and a cedary aftertaste. Tight and compacted.
