Chateau Mouton Rothschild 2004

Product description

Chateau Mouton Rothschild, a Premier Cru Classé from the Bordeaux region and one of the world's greatest wines, is owned by Baroness Philippine de Rothschild.

The wine has beautiful depth of colour, almost black with a bluish tint. The nose is complex, with notes of blackberry and redcurrant and a touch of smoke, revealing still discreet oak. The attack is full and generous, while the tannins elegantly enfold flavours of liquorice, mocha and vanilla. The finish is long and flavoursome, full of freshness and fruit, set off by delicious touches of toast. A vintage as elegant as it is promising.

95 Points - Wine Spectator     This wine shows lots of mulled spice, warm tobacco leaf and well roasted cedar accents, but isn't short on fruit, offering enticing layers of red currant, plum and blackberry confiture. The long finish is riddled with sweet smoke, black tea and iron notes. A gorgeous wine from an overlooked vintage.
