Vallein Tercinier Conjugaison 49 Grande Champagne Cognac

Product description

A Grande Champagne Cognac from 1949 and 1922

A traditional vintage tends to be plucked from one single year of eaux-de-vie, however, the Vallein Tercinier Conjugaison 49 Grande Champagne is a marriage between two. As suggested by the apt name “conjugaison”, it comprises two fine Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie from 1949 and 1922. This is truly a historic Grande Champagne Cognac; the terrain is renowned for the number of fine spirits produced thanks to the high chalk content and resulting high acidic content of the soil. This Premier Cru yields a very light, floral and fine Cognac which take a long time to mature. It was produced using slow reduction at an ambient temperature, with a light filtration. The very pure “Campanian” soil makes for some of the finest bottles, aged in oak barrels to reach full maturity. The Conjugaison 49 is an extremely rare, and one of a kind Cognac that has a complex story to tell. In terms of age category, it is classed as a Vintage Cognac but descends from two separate years; one 90 year old eau-de-vie from post-First World War, and the other post Second at 63 years of age. This is a complex Grande Champagne vintage that is sure to impress.

The essence of the Vallein Tercinier Cognac house

The Vallein Tercinier Cognac house is one of family tradition dating back centuries, but also a sense of modernity as they bring the art of Cognac production into the 21st century. Based at the Domaine des Forges in the Saintonge region, this family brand date back over 500 years, passing down knowledge from father to son. They are a smaller craft brand, with a lot to offer.

Presentation: The bottle, is very much in keeping with the style of others from Vallein Tercinier. However, this bottle has a green wax seal instead of the regular burgundy of other vintages, and also the label is incredibly special; etched in a “handwritten” style across cream paper. It gives a sense of the artisanal quality of this Cognac house. It arrives in a wonderful cream box, with the family estate and address imprinted.
