Made from the Nebbiolo grape, it possesses brisk acidity, somewhat fierce tannins, and plenty of body. Scents of dried flowers, plum and cherry fruit, liquorice and a classic note of tar adorn the nose. The flavours are similar, with high raspy acidity, very chewy firm tannins and a long finish that has a bite. What you need to do is enjoy some great savoury food, like cured meat, aged parmigiano reggiano, osso buco, or risotto with mushrooms. This wine is transformed by food! This is an outstanding value for Barolo.
