The success of Penfolds has been driven by the generations of visionaries and innovators. From the beginning in 1844 to today, the merging of science, art and innovation has driven Penfolds to become one of Australia's most famed and respected winemakers.
Introducing the California Collection. This inaugural release is an endeavour more than twenty years in the making, when Penfolds winemakers first imported heritage vine cuttings from esteemed South Australian vineyards and planted them in California soil. This project follows decades of investing in vineyards and building relationships in California, led by senior winemaker Stephanie Dutton and winemaker Andrew Baldwin.
These new wines add to the growing portfolio of Penfolds projects outside of Australia. Following the Penfolds model, the California Collection wines are defined by bin numbers and have a hierarchy of quality, starting with the Bin 600 Cabernet-Shiraz and moving up through the Bin 704 Cabernet Sauvignon and Bin 149 Cabernet Sauvignon. All of the new releases are from the 2018 vintage. Time to try something new ... these wines will not disappoint!
