Glenrothes 12 year old releases are some what common... but not this one. Bottled at a truly healthy 66.7% it will evaporate on your palate. Matured in a Bourbon Hogshead and intended to be blended it was diverted to be bottled as a single malt. The whisky opens up with Honey suckle and Mead, which eventually after a few minutes of resting becomes Runny Honey and heather. The main body of the whisky manages to battle through the ABV and offers a robust defence of fresh Hot Chocolate and eastern spices such as Cardamon and Cinnamon.
