The Crozes-Hermitage appellation is one of the prestigious wines of the northern Rhone valley. Here, the grape varieties give their best. Syrah for red wines, Marsanne and Roussanne for white wines.
Dark red and moderately deep. A nose of blackcurrant, plum, violet but also pepper and toast, with a vegetal note. A supple, fresh palate, black fruit, mineral, with roundness and persistence based on fresh fruit.
Ideal pairings for this wine include game birds, red meat, cold meat, mature fatty cheese, and pork dishes.
92 Points - Wine Enthusiast
Aromas of dark plums, blueberries, blackberry, violets, crispy bacon and freshly picked thyme fill the glass. The palate is fresh and enveloped by flavors of pomegranate, rhubarb, plums and blackberries. With its polished tannins, the wine becomes juicier with aeration, making it easy to enjoy now.
92 Points - James Suckling
This rather rich and plush Crozes has excellent integration of restrained toasty oak with ripe blueberry and blackberry fruit on the well-structured palate. Just beginning to show what it’s made of! Long, rather compact finish. Drink or hold.
