Glenfarclas Family Cask 1999 (Cask 5212) Summer Release 2022

Product description

Multi-award winning Glenfarclas Single Highland Malt Scotch Whisky has been distilled on Speyside for six generations by one family – the Grants. The Glenfarclas Distillery was legally established in 1836, on the Recherlich Farm at Ballindalloch, in the heart of Speyside. In 1865, John Grant purchased the distillery for £511. Situated in the heart of Speyside – malt whisky country – Glenfarclas, translated from the Gaelic as “Glen of the green grassland”, nestles at the foot of the Ben Rinnes mountain.

The family-run distillery released this Glenfarclas Single Cask Whisky from 1999 in the summer of 2022 for their Family Casks series. The single malt whisky spent its cask aging from 1999 to 2022 in Sherry Butt 5212. The distillery bottled the Scotch at cask strength at 55.3 percent by volume. As a natural Scotch, it also comes without coloring and chill filtration. 585 bottles are available worldwide.

The single cask whisky indulges the nose with notes of sherry. It smells of cherries and sweet honey. Oak provides a light spice with pepper.

Creamy and fruity on the tongue. It tastes of sherry and dried fruit. Plums come through. Nuts and chocolate initiate the finish.

The finish is long-lasting. The Scotch says goodbye with plums and nuts. Slight sharpness and spicy oak persistence.
