Glenfarclas Family Cask 2005 (Cask 1030) Summer Release 2022

Product description

Multi-award winning Glenfarclas Single Highland Malt Scotch Whisky has been distilled on Speyside for six generations by one family – the Grants. The Glenfarclas Distillery was legally established in 1836, on the Recherlich Farm at Ballindalloch, in the heart of Speyside. In 1865, John Grant purchased the distillery for £511. Situated in the heart of Speyside – malt whisky country – Glenfarclas, translated from the Gaelic as “Glen of the green grassland”, nestles at the foot of the Ben Rinnes mountain.

The family-run distillery released this Glenfarclas Single Cask Whisky from 2005 in the summer of 2022 for their Family Casks series. The single malt whisky spent its cask maturity from 2005 to 2022 in the Refill Butt #1030. The distillery bottled the Scotch at cask strength at 61.3 percent by volume. As a natural Scotch, it also comes without coloring and chill filtration.

The single malt whisky is sweet and fruity on the nose. It smells of plums and oranges. Slight sharpness and spicy oak round off the aroma. Sweet on the tongue. It tastes of vanilla and malt. Behind are nuts and light impressions of fruit. The finish is medium length. The Scotch says goodbye with chocolate, plum and peppery notes.
