Glenfarclas Family Cask 2007 (Cask 553) Summer Release 2022

Product description

Multi-award winning Glenfarclas Single Highland Malt Scotch Whisky has been distilled on Speyside for six generations by one family – the Grants. The Glenfarclas Distillery was legally established in 1836, on the Recherlich Farm at Ballindalloch, in the heart of Speyside. In 1865, John Grant purchased the distillery for £511. Situated in the heart of Speyside – malt whisky country – Glenfarclas, translated from the Gaelic as “Glen of the green grassland”, nestles at the foot of the Ben Rinnes mountain.

The family-run distillery released this Glenfarclas Single Cask Whisky from 2007 in the summer of 2022 for their Family Casks series. The single malt whiskey spent its cask aging in Sherry Butt 533 from 2007 to 2022. The distillery bottled the Scotch at cask strength at 60.3 percent by volume. As a natural Scotch, it also comes without coloring and chill filtration. There are just 613 bottles.

The whiskey fills the nose with strong notes of sherry and oak. Behind are raises and oranges. The Glenfarclas Family Casks 2007 lies on the tongue with a complex aroma. It tastes like raises and dates. Orange peel and chocolate come through. Behind are walnuts and oak. The finish is long-lasting. The Scotch says goodbye with a lasting sweetness. It also leaves peppery-spicy impressions.
