Woodward Canyon Merlot 2013

The wine shows beautifully, with rich high toned fruit, balanced acidity and great proportion. Complex flavors of cherry, spice, coffee and earth are enticing. Notes of black cherry, spiced oak, leather and earth come forth in the aroma. This wine is generous and balanced enough to enjoy now, yet with the complexity and structure to age well for six years or more.

93 Points - Wine Enthusiast    Woodspice and vanillin are out in front on the aromas followed by mocha, raspberry and dark fruit. The palate brings lush, concentrated flavors and a lingering finish. It drinks beautifully now but should have a long life ahead of it. Editors' Choice

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate    The 2013 Merlot has plenty of oak, yet also plenty of fruit, with medium to full-bodied richness and lots of black cherry, leafy herbs, truffle and blackcurrants aromas and flavors. Rich, nicely textured, with ripe tannin and outstanding length, drink it anytime over the coming decade.
