West Cape Howe Book Ends Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Product description

West Cape Howe was founded in 1997, quickly becoming one of Western Australia’s favourite wine brands. Owned by four Western Australian families, Gavin Berry has been Managing Partner & Senior Winemaker since 2004 and he now has had over 30 vintages in the Great Southern.

The winery is now at the picturesque ‘Langton’ vineyard, in the heart of the Mt Barker wine district. Over time, the partnership has acquired some of the oldest vineyard resources in the state, giving it unequalled access to the best and most consistent quality fruit that the cool Great Southern wine region has to offer.

The 2015 Book Ends is a well textured wine with great depth of fruit; particularly ripe boysenberry and blackberry fruit flavours. This wine has lovely mouthfeel, a beautiful silkiness and is very well balanced; the intense fresh berry fruit flavours being complemented by the oak characters picked up during barrel maturation. The gently drying tannins and good acidity contribute to its great persistence of flavour.

95 Points - James Halliday (Halliday Wine Companion, 2018)    A selection of the best parcels of grapes from West Cape Howe's oldest vineyards in Mount Barker, matured for 18 months in French oak. The bright colour and purity of the fruit on the bouquet set the antennae waving, the palate cast in the same mould, with purity its middle name. Red and blackcurrant fruit provides the full menu for first class entertainment.
