Oloroso Sherry + Mizunara Oak + PX (Pedro Ximenez)! Kaiyo whiskey is aged in Japanese Mizunara oak casks of the highest quality. Because of the delicate wood grain of Mizunara oak, these casks are handcrafted. They are among the world's rarest casks and are regarded as among the best for maturing whisky. Kaiyo's barrels undergo a final maturation at sea for up to three months, departing from Osaka, Japan. The mizunara oak is helped to release its exquisite flavours and aromas by movement, temperature variation, and air pressure changes.
The Sheri is a limited edition, once-in-a-lifetime whisky that Kaiyo's master blender considers to be his best effort. Mizunara Oak, oloroso sherry, and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks were used to age this wine. Non-chill filtered and bottled at 46 percent ABV. Only 450 cases produced.
