The Macallan Rare Cask single malt Scotch whisky was introduced to the UK mid-2015 after being launched in the US in late 2014. It comprises whiskies from 16 different Sherry cask styles, chosen by Macallan's Master Whisky Maker, Bob Dalgarno. A high proportion of these casks are first filled and have resulted in a rich, spicy Speyside single malt, bursting with honey raisin, root ginger and decadent chocolate notes.
Rare Cask's rich mahogany-red whisky showcases two of The Macallan’s greatest and most defining strengths - sherry seasoned oak casks and natural colour.
Every cask of exceptional single malt whisky maturing at The Macallan Estate has its own personality, with little nuances which make them unique. From time to time their whisky makers come across casks maturing in warehouses which stand out from the others in a very particular way.
