Arthur Barolet Chassagne Montrachet 'Clos St Jean' Premier Cru 2017

Product description

In 1830, Arthur Barolet founded a small family business in Beaune, the capital of Burgundy. At first Barolet wines rarely found themselves in any export markets and were only known by a few connoisseurs. His grandson, also known as  Arthur, left medical school and Paris in 1920 to care for the family business. Today, the former owners' quality and tradition continue in the 19th-century cellars of the Savigny-lès-Beaune based Domaine.

The white Chassagne-Montrachet shows a light golden colour with a rather intense nose of flowers, hot croissant or brioche and candied lemon, evolving with aging towards nuances of toasted hazelnuts and spices. The flavour is straightforward, combining freshness and character, sap and finesse. The long persistence leaves the palate with floral and baking notes.
