A unique wine that demonstrates the potential for quality in Spanish sparkling wine. As the Muga family has always been enamored by Champagne, they set out decades ago to produce a sparkling wine from Rioja of the highest quality. Produced with indigenous varieties of Rioja, Conde de Haro has always been a mythical sparkling wine. Riddled and disgorged by hand, it is produced with the most traditional methods possible, resulting in a complex and timeless wine.
93 Points - Jeb Dunnuck The 2017 Conde de Haro is mostly Viura yet includes 20% Malvasia and 10% Garnacha Blanca, all from higher elevation vineyards near Sajazarra. It reveals a lighter gold hue as well as a crisp, nicely defined bouquet of stone fruits, white flowers, toasted spice, brioche, and a touch of salinity. Beautifully balanced on the palate, with clean, pure fruit, a seamless texture, and a great finish, this is a beautiful Cava that readers will love.
