Veronica Ortega Quite 2019

Product description

Veronica Ortega Quite is a red wine produced by Veronica Ortega in Valtuille de Abajo (León) D.O. Bierzo. Veronica Ortega is from Cádiz and trained in the best wineries of Burgundy and Priorat before she was attracted to the terroir of El Bierzo. She decided to settle in Valtuille de Abajo to start producing her wines, thus initiating her most personal project.

Veronica Ortega Quite is a wine made from Mencia, from vineyards located in Valtuille that are over 80 years old, planted on clay, sandy soils with a great deal of minerals. They are manually harvested and placed in 15-kg boxes. The grapes are de-stemmed at the winery before fermenting in stainless steel deposits, with a slight extraction. Maceration takes approximately ten days. This wine is aged for eight months, 50% in used oak barrels and the other 50% in 800-litre clay vessels.

Veronica Ortega Quite is a fluid, fruity and juicy wine. On the nose, aromas of red and black fruit stand out. It is easy to drink in the mouth and fresh, with a mineral and slightly balsamic background.
