Jane Eyre Corton Grand Cru 2020
Product description
Melbourne-born Jane Eyre-Renard, one of the pioneers of the growing micro-negotiant movement, has been based in Burgundy since 2003, paying her dues at some top domaines including de Montille and Comtes Lafon. She currently makes her own wines in a facility in Bligny-le-Beaune, shared with, among others, Dominique Lafon. Her wines, whether from Beaune, Nuits, or Beaujolais, display her distinctive style - charming and inviting, with supple tannins and soft but bright fruits.
Jane Eyre's classy Corton is a co-fermented blend of mostly Marchaudes with Renardes and a little Bressandes. Spicy, muscular and focused, it's ripe and rich. It shows nuanced melange of floral red and deeper black fruits, with plenty of five spice, and lush, truffled notes. There is a very attractive sweetness and depth to the palate with sandalwood and figs. The sophisticated tannins are juicy but layered. An intensely aromatic Pinot Noir.
