The combination of altitude, southwesterly exposure, and rich volcanic soils in Scansano create one of Italy’s most unique microclimates. This town, founded at the time of the Etruscans, developed into an important civic centre in the Middle Ages. It is recognised around the world for its Morellino di Scansano and it is notable for its unspoiled nature and rolling hills, lies 150 meters above sea level and only 20 kilometers from the Tyrrhenian Sea.
The resulting wine is ruby red in color with a complex nose with hints of crunchy blackberries and raspberries, and elegant touches of sweet spices, closing on a balsamic note. In the mouth it has great personality with a softness, complemented by good acidity and tannin, leading to a fruity and intense finish.
