Piero Incisa della Rocchetta, the grandson of Sassicaia founder Mario Incisa della Rocchetta, ended up in Patagonia after tasting a bottle of Pinot Noir he fell in love with, and was told came from old vines in Patagonia. This wine comes from 60-year-old, head pruned vines in the Rio Negro Valley of Patagonia.
As the name suggests (albeit in Spanish), there is no added sulphur in this wine - a rare thing that is enabled by the extremely high quality of the grapes and the attention to detail in the winemaking at this address.
96 Points - James Suckling
Floral and buoyant nose with fresh red berries, roses and mineral. Really bright and energetic on the palate with beautiful tension and juiciness. Subtle, sappy and layered. The mineral spike extends to a simply delicious finish.
