The profound relationship between the sun and the altitude of the Andes inspired Achaval-Ferrer to explore other paths. They wish to share the expression of a mythical variety, whose echoes of freshness and seduction make it stand out for its elegance.
An accurate reflection of its variety, Cabernet Sauvignon delivers a strong and direct message where the fruit overcomes the mineral nuances. Originating from small patches of vineyards located in Mendoza's first area, this wine with minimal production highlights a juicy texture filled with black and red fruitiness. Far from abstractions, it allows for a lovely walk toward that pleasure. Cabernet Mendoza is an expression of spontaneity and vitality resulting from its youthfulness.
92 Points - James Suckling
A medium-to full-bodied red with aromas of blackcurrants, blackberries, violets and green chilli. Concentrated and structured with firm, fine tannins and fresh acidity.
91 Points - Vinous
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Mendoza is a blend of grapes from Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley that spent 12 months aging in used barrels. Garnet red in colour, and the aromas feature redcurrant jam with hints of mint and pepper and a touch of sour cherry against an oaky backdrop. Intense in the mouth with gentle tannins, the lively freshness is contained by the good body but ensures that proceedings stay frisky. The lovely, classical finish is packed with fruit.
