Bruno Giacosa Barolo Falletto 2019

Product description
One of the legendary winemakers of the world, Bruno Giacosa crafted the most prestigious single-vineyard Barolo and Barbaresco wines during a career that spanned nearly eight decades. He joined the family business at the age of 15, representing the third generation of his Langhe winemaking family. Giacosa’s unfailing pursuit of perfection, his unrivalled palate and his intimate knowledge of vineyards in the Langhe quickly drew recognition and helped establish Piedmont as a leading wine region.

The Falletto is made from grapes of selected vineyards of Serralunga d’Alba and a small part from the Comune di Barolo. It's aged 30 months in big oak barrels. On the palate, the flavours of wild berry fruit create a fresh, juicy package whose harmony and complexity surprise us at a young age. Garnet red in colour, the wine showcases elegant and fine aromas of fresh plum, cherry and spice notes. It is dense and structured with great freshness on the palate and shows well-balanced tannins.

98 Points - James Suckling

Lovely aromas of strawberries, plums, and berries. Bark and mushrooms. Complex and aromatic. Medium to full body with super fine tannins that are supple and gorgeous. Lovely length. So attractive now.

94 Points - Wine Spectator

Strawberry, cherry, rose, juniper, wild herbs and mineral combine in this complex, elegant Barolo, which is backed by lively acidity and a solid spine of tannins. Overall, this is balanced and long, with a reserve that should serve it well over the long term.
